adam smith vs. karl marx
Both Adam Smith and Karl Marx are ranked as two of the top twenty most influential people in the world. They are both known for their views for creating a perfect society. Adam Smith, a Scottish economist philosopher born in 1723, had the goal in creating the perfect society through a capitalist approach. Karl Marx, born in 1818, criticized capitalism and believed in individual freedom. The problem between the two was figuring out what kind of state was needed to ensure the greatest freedom. Though they had the same goal, they had different views on what was needed to accomplish that goal such as human nature, social decisions made in society, the role of competition and the effects of the division of labor.
